Correct the record. Don’t erase it.

• The story headline and edition date.
• The exact statement, caption, ticker fact or source in question.
• Why it may be wrong, incomplete or misleading.
• A primary source or other supporting evidence.
• Contact details only when a reply is requested.

• The claim will be rechecked against its cited sources and relevant primary material.
• A substantive error will create an approved correction, clarification, replacement or withdrawal.
• The original frozen version will remain in the editorial record rather than being silently overwritten.
• A superseded version will stop being presented as the current version.
• Video, transcript, ticker facts and source changes will stay tied to the correction record.

A later market move is normally an update, not a correction to an earlier snapshot that was accurate and properly timestamped. A correction changes the record because the earlier publication was materially wrong or misleading at its own cutoff.

The intended log will show the affected story, original publication time, correction time, what changed, why it changed and the current approved version. No correction entries have been published on this site yet.
